In Fado: Duets and Impromptus, players take on the role of talent managers preparing unforgettable fado performances across Portugal. The goal is to impress the audience by assembling the best sets of three cards that share a common trait: artist (character), alignment (number), melody (cipher), or scenario (color). Each valid set earns victory points, with the possibility of earning bonus points for outstanding combinations.

The game supports 2 to 4 players and typically takes around 25 minutes to play.
